Is my message stored or read by anyone?

No. Messages submitted to Before You Send are sent directly to Google’s Gemini API for processing and are not stored on our servers at any point. We have no access to what you write, and we keep no history of submissions. Each session is completely private.

What does the analysis actually look at?

The analysis reads the emotional register of the message — the specific words and phrases that signal tone, the structural patterns that tend to produce certain reactions, and what the message is likely to communicate to the specific type of person you’re sending it to. It also notices what’s absent: an unexpressed need, a missing ask, a door that’s been closed before the conversation begins.

What if the analysis feels wrong?

It might be. The tool reads the text of your message and the relationship context you select — it cannot know the full history between you and the recipient, how they tend to read things, or what’s been said before. If the analysis doesn’t fit, trust your own read. The tool is an outside perspective, not a verdict.

Is this a chatbot or AI writing assistant?

Neither. Before You Send is a single-purpose analysis tool. You paste one message, you get one analysis. There is no conversation, no ongoing session, and no general-purpose writing assistance. It does one thing: reads your message before you send it.

Does it work for professional emails as well as personal messages?

Yes. The context selector includes Boss, Coworker, and other professional relationships specifically because the same message lands very differently depending on who receives it. Professional communication — performance conversations, difficult follow-ups, conflict with a manager — is one of the most common reasons people hesitate before sending.

Is it free?

Yes, completely. There are no accounts, no subscriptions, and no limits on use. Paste your message and get an analysis. That is all.
